It's been a while since I last updated this blog. This will be my first entry after one year, and I want it to be about a new craft tool I acquired that will aid me in my metal stamping.

I recently made new investments for my metal stamping, and first in the list was this leather sandbag I got from Beaducation.com. I read some customers' reviews on their website and all had excellent experiences on this product. Indeed, using a leather sandbag makes a great difference. It is true that it minimizes the sound you create while stamping, but what's even better is that it makes your stamping life a lot easier.

One of the positive things of using a sandbag is that it holds your steel bench block firmly. Without a sandbag, my bench block usually bounces a bit on the table whenever I would make a strike on my metal stamps, which makes everything else bounce as well, that is, the stamping blank and metal stamp. I injured my fingers a couple of times already.

But the benefit that I love the most from using a sandbag is that I get to make better impressions with my design stamps.

Most of my design stamps are ImpressArt 6mm, and these are quite hard for me to impress properly even though I am just using a 20 gauge aluminum blank. I've been stamping for four years now, but I don't really have strong hands still.

One of my best seller designs is this couple keychain bearing the Adam and Eve stamps, so I use these two design stamps very often, and it is always a challenge for me to to impress the Eve stamp properly. But when I started using the sandbag, oh dear, I couldn't believe it, I was able to stamp the Eve design stamp seamlessly. Thank you I decided to purchase this sandbag.

Before using a sandbag, it was a struggle with the Eve stamp.

Stamping the Eve stamp is now easier.

Plus it's teal! As Lisa N. Kelly said, "They are teal and purple. I mean come on."

Image from Skyworld

It’s been almost a decade since I first read the first book of Skyworld, and from that moment on, I have been a fan of Mervin Ignacio and Ian Sta. Maria.

And how else can things get more nostalgic and exciting than Skyworld releasing a new issue after five long unexpected years. Yep, they just released Skyworld: Dominion last Independence Day. And all I can say is, wala paring kupas.

Having the local comics personalities I adore all working together in Denmark, Mervin, Ian, and Budjette, bringing Skyworld back to life…sniff…this brings happy tears to my eyes. Haha. Haven’t felt this way for quite some time since I stopped going to Komikons.

Ang saya lang…also how they concluded in Dominion the end of Rianka’s rule, calling back Filipinos to their homeland. That’s my most favorite panel, the scene in the airport.

So, I guess I’m back to how I was eight years ago, looking forward again to the next issues of Skyworld, what will become of little Luna and Sinag, and when will I see Makabo back in action again. 😊

Hey, peeps! I did a collaboration with DIY Crafts PH to present you with a Metal Stamping 101 YouTube tutorial. You may check the video below.

I started giving workshops last year, but then I stopped conducting one for this year, and there are a lot of you asking when will be my next workshop. I'm sorry, guys, no future sched yet for an actual workshop, but you may watch my Metal Stamping 101 video first. I also gave here some tips and tricks on how to survive your first stamping. Haha. Anyway, I also learned metal stamping just by watching numerous YouTube tutorials, so keri niyo yan!

Hope this will really be helpful to most of you. Toodles! :)

Skin tone: Morena (medium)
Skin Type: Dehydrated/Oily
Lip type: Dry and dehydrated all year round

It was my first time to use Skinpotions products, and I got mine from their Eastwood bazaar via Trendsetter last June 10, 2017. It was great that they decided to participate in a venue nearer my place (I will not go to WTC).

Top on my list was their Lip Candy. I have dry and very dehydrated lips; this is consistent every day and all year round. That is why I really can’t wear lipsticks even if I want to, so I am opting for lip tints and tinted lip balms since I have to reapply a balm throughout the day.

I got the California Dream and Hello Plum shades, and I really fell in love with their Lip Candy. It didn’t have a residue that sticks to your lips, unlike other tinted lip balms. It was like a lip tint in solid form.

For comparison, the California Dream shade is like the solid form of TonyMoly Delight Tony Tint #3 Orange Cha Cha, and this is absolutely great because that means I can use my Orange Cha Cha and apply California Dream when my lips starts to dry out within the day, and I will still have the same orange tint on my lips.

I also love to pair Hello Plum with Smooch Ink #4; they work really well together on my lips.

So, will I be repurchasing this?
Yes! Absolutely.

I’m doing another review of Althea Korea | Philippines since it has been my go-to site for shopping Korean cosmetics, and that is because:
  1. Their shipping method is very convenient. My package is being delivered right at my doorstep; I need not go to the post office to claim it and be taxed further. Plus I get free shipping for orders P999+.
  2. Prices are lower than the normal retail price.
  3. They have numerous promos that’ll give you extra discounts and sometimes freebies.
  4. They have this “Sharing is Caring” promo every 3rd and 4th week of the month, which I get to have one item from my purchase for free. I use this promo when stocking up on my essentials.
  5. I love their boxes. I get excited every time I see their box.
  6. They have Dear, Klairs products.
Having introduced some Korean products into my skincare routine, these are the ones that I have repeatedly purchased from Althea:
  1. Dear, Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner P1,056 P880
  2. Dear, Klairs Toner Mate 2 in 1 Cotton Pad P336 P280
  3. Mamonde Rose Water Toner P740 P540
  4. Tony Moly Panda’s Dream Eye Patch P80 P50
  5. Moksha Dear Mask Orange P85 P51
I already had made a number of purchases from Althea, and I could say that I have grown to love their site since they tremendously helped me in getting access to some of my skincare and beauty essentials. So if you are new to it and would like to check it out, maybe you can maximize your experience by taking advantage of this referral link and get an extra P200 of your first order (expires on Sept. 2, 2017).

Toodles and enjoy!

Beauty MNL had been my second go-to website for skincare products this year. I think I was searching for an eye cream, in particular, either Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream or COSRX Honey Ceramide Eye Cream, that made me look into this site. Though they didn’t have the Mizon 25ml tub and had the 15ml tube sold out, I was relieved to see that they had the COSRX eye cream available.

Their free shipping pop-up box was quite persistent, but having the eye cream priced at P1,100 (it’s now P1,170), it was not such a bad idea to add some products to meet the P1,500 free shipping holiday promo. And I must say, their marketing tactics really worked on me because they also had a Tokyo raffle promo where you would get an entry for a minimum spend of P1,990. I grew up watching anime, batang 90s kasi, and had developed a liking to the Japanese culture, so yes, I gave in to the Tokyo promo.

I discovered the Althea website on the last week of December 2016. I stumbled upon it when I was searching for possible places to purchase Dear, Klairs products within the Philippines.

I had known about Klairs through Wishtrend TV and would really love to try out some of their products, but, unfortunately, Wishtrend's shipping method makes use of the post office, which meant that I still had to pickup my package from the local post office, and I didn't want to do that since our address is quite problematic (like when your house is in a specific city but your address is already covered by the boundary of another city).

Good thing that Althea ships directly to your doorstep. I got really excited upon discovering this website, so many skincare and makeup products from various Korean brands that you could choose from. I got even more excited to see that they were carrying most of the brands and products I was eyeing from Wishtrend.
