Done rereading the Trese comic book series, story by Budjette Tan and art by Kajo Baldisimo.

I got a copy of Trese 5: Midnight Tribunal from the recently held Komikon 2012 last October 27, 2012, and after reading it, it made me want to reread the whole series from the start, and that’s what I exactly did.

Been to the 33rd Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) this last Sunday, September 16, 2012, with my best friend and a college orgmate (my comics buddy!), and also bumped into my sister during the event.

My primary purpose for going to the event is to FINALLY have my Trese copies signed by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo. I never got any of it signed since I do not bring them to Komikon events and I buy copies from bookstores, so yey, there goes my signed copies.

I usually get bored reading compiled comic strips, but “aNyWAy: Wan (1)” by Kajo Baldisimo and Josef Rootgum allowed me to give a very different and POSITIVE response. The moment I started with the first page of comic strips, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and not a single hint of boredom knocked on me. That was a very rare thing to happen (am more of the graphic novel/continuous plot reader).

I had the time to read this morning "Maverick Rider", another case from the "Trese" files of Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo. The story started with the villains breaking into a morgue and stealing corpses. As they made their escape, one of the Kambal surprised them when he appeared at the driver seat window.

Been a long while since the last time I’ve read anything, and it’s just by chance that I get to read another work of Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo. “The Feast”, yes, that’s definitely it. This really is one interesting twist in stories written about Philippine folk creatures. The resolution is one witty, brain-catching scenario. Heck, going on road trips to try each place’s best delicacy… delicacy of aswang and the like. Such a refreshment.
